sustainable protection: garment bags made of transparent paper instead of foil

delfort’s thinwrap transparent gloss HS is recyclable, transparent, and resistant to moisture. This combination makes the paper particularly well suited as a protective covering for clothing – whether in the fashion industry or in industrial laundries. “thinwrap transparent gloss HS is not only robust and versatile, but also easy to process. It is heat-sealable and can be used on existing machines,” says Markus Rothböck, Head of Packaging at delfort.

thinwrap transparent gloss HS is so transparent that the shape and color of packaged textiles are clearly visible from the outside. “This is ideal for easily identifying garments when picking them up from the dry cleaners, or for transporting and storing them safely and securely in the fashion industry,” says Rothböck. The barrier paper is also resistant to moisture: its strength and protective properties are not compromised even in environments with high humidity, such as laundries.

The paper is suitable for flexographic, gravure, and offset printing and can be customized. Logos and lettering from brands, manufacturers, or laundry chains can be easily applied. Its heat-sealability is a significant advantage for processors. Switching from conventional film to paper is also simple and cost-effective: existing machines can be used with only minor modifications.

thinwrap transparent gloss HS is made from renewable resources. delfort uses FSC and/or PEFC-certified pulp in its production. The paper is recyclable according to the CEPI method. “The combination of transparency, strength, and sustainability makes thinwrap transparent gloss HS a strong alternative to plastic films, which are currently often used for garment bags,” says Rothböck.

Besides clothing, thinwrap transparent gloss HS is also suitable for packaging other products such as toys, cosmetics, magazines, tissues, and napkins.
