Hello and welcome to the feurstein paper mill. You’ve probably heard of us before, haven’t you? If not: we belong to the international delfort group and are very #proud that we are #1 for specialty papers for the packaging and cigarette industry. Here at our location in Traun, around 300 employees develop and produce our cool papers on three paper machines. You can see these papers in use in the well-known burger restaurant with the large yellow “M”. 😉
Used all over the world for all kind of burgers, our burger papers keep your fingers clean and the burgers nice and #fresh. But hey, we’ll go one better: Since you’re already at the “M”, take a look at the French fries bags! We will give you three guesses where the paper is from!
As you can probably imagine by now, these packaging papers for the food industry sell like hot fries, uhhh… buns. So, we are always on the lookout for new apprentices who want to make a decent career with us.
And best of all: Because we are part of the large international delfort group, you also have the opportunity to work at another location after you have successfully completed your training. Until that happens, our super nice apprenticeship trainers are your mentors and supporters, so you’ll soon be a true expert in your field!

Last week our #teamdelfort colleagues in Finland celebrated the country’s National Bring Your Child to Work Day. This special event gave employees‘ children, ages 5 to 15, the opportunity to explore where and how their parents spend their workdays. The day was filled with exciting activities including time at the office with their parents, breakfast and a quiz with one of our Product Managers and hands-on experiences in paper making. Older children also explored potential career paths in our industry. With 35 children joining us and the help of 6 delfort volunteers, the event was a wonderful reminder of the value of sharing our work and inspiring the next generation. What an inspiring day of learning and collaboration at the Austrian Packaging Day! Hosted by the @fhcampuswien the focus was on “Sustainable, Circular, and Safe Packaging: Global Trends and Local Implementation.” At our booth, Verena and Johannes presented delfort’s and delsci‘s innovative lightweight packaging papers. Happy kids, happy parents! It was another successful summer for the delfort Kids Club, with more than 150 children participating across many of our European locations. The much-loved week-long day camp helps support our working parents during the holiday season. The kids had an absolute blast with activities like obstacle courses, a giant bubble show, farm trips, campfires, and even hiking with llamas. We recently had the privilege of welcoming a delegation from UNIDO and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to our site in Traun. The meeting’s primary focus was to explore potential synergies and cooperation opportunities in the realms of sustainable food packaging and food safety. Our guests were excited about our quest to reduce the reliance on non-renewable materials and promote a circular economy through the use of natural fibers in packaging. During a visit to our state-of-the-art laboratory, they witnessed our advancements in creating lightweight, sustainable and highly functional papers, contributing to the reduction of packaging waste.
