The rating platform EcoVadis awarded the specialty paper manufacturer Platinum status for the fourth time in a row, which only one percent of the more than 150,000 companies assessed received. delfort achieved 88 out of 100 points.
Compared to the previous year, delfort improved in each of the four categories: environment, ethics, labor and human rights and sustainable procurement. The company performed best in the area of environment, with a score of 94 points. At the same time, delfort made the largest improvements in labor and human rights management compared to 2024. Overall, delfort ranked among the best companies rated in the past twelve months for the fourth time in a row. "This demonstrates our ongoing commitment to firmly embedding sustainable practices in our corporate strategy," says Hannes Kinast, COO of delfort.
The specialty paper manufacturer achieved full marks for its sustainable business practices, including setting quantitative targets for energy and water consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. "We have committed ourselves to the Science Based Targets initiative Net-Zero Standard and aim to gradually and continuously eliminate our greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 at the latest," says Mr. Kinast. This includes detailed measures such as further electrification within the company, investments in sustainable in-house power generation, and increased energy efficiency by using the latest technologies.
In the area of labor and human rights, where delfort made the largest improvements compared to the previous year, the company focused on occupational safety, diversity, inclusion and equality in 2024. "We have been promoting all topics related to labor and human rights within our company and in our supply chain for years," emphasizes Mr. Kinast. "In 2024, we focused specifically on promoting women and young talents in the paper industry."
