We aim to prevent accidents by taking responsibility for the health and safety of our employees every single day. Therefore, we continuously improve and renew our prevention programs, supported by industry-leading methods and dedicated safety experts.
The foundation of our safety work is a group‑wide, unified occupational health and safety system based on ISO 45001. This system includes regular assessments of workplaces, machinery and processes. It also comprises systematic safety inspections, risk assessments, and monthly monitoring and review processes. All safety‑relevant KPIs are continuously recorded and evaluated to enable timely implementation of appropriate measures.
All employees complete mandatory safety training during onboarding and at regular intervals, thereafter covering topics such as hazard awareness, emergency response, and safe working practices. A dedicated leadership training program strengthens the role of managers who play a key part in ensuring safe workflows. Employees and external contractors are also empowered to refuse any task that may pose a potential risk.
For preventive protection, delfort provides its employees with the required personal protective equipment free of charge, depending on the work assignment. We engage our workforce in the development, implementation and execution of appropriate management systems and programs. Every year, the sites conduct several local work safety assessments with the full involvement of the local general and first-level managers.
All workplace accidents, safety observations and near misses are systematically recorded, documented and analyzed. To support fast learning across the organization, delfort uses Incident Flash Reports that are shared group‑wide. In addition, incident analysis and resulting corrective actions are reviewed monthly by the global Work Safety Team to continuously strengthen our safety performance.
With the group‑wide safety initiative “Safe Together”, delfort strengthens awareness for workplace safety and the shared responsibility of every employee. The campaign covers eight key safety topics, each explored in four‑month cycles. Central elements include Safety Awareness Talks (SATs) – short, regular conversations between safety coaches and employees – and Work Safety Walks, which make on‑site risks visible and address them directly.
Promoting employee health is important to us, even outside of work. To this end, we offer a wide range of medical and health services, such as on-site doctors, psychiatrist and psychologist consultations, free medical check-ups and vaccinations. In addition, we offer voluntary health promotion programs such as sponsored fitness classes, nutrition counselling and group sports events.
100% of our employees, as well as workers who are not directly employed by delfort but whose work and/or workplace is controlled by us, are covered by our occupational health and safety management system, which is regularly audited internally. 100% of our employees are represented in formal, joint management-worker health and safety committees and at regular European Works Council meetings.
