Our long‑term goal is clear: we aim to source all wood pulp from suppliers certified under internationally recognized forest certification standards such as FSC™ and PEFC*. This means maintaining fully traceable, responsibly sourced virgin fibers and ensuring our supply chain remains free from deforestation and forest degradation.
This enduring commitment addresses critical challenges like deforestation and illegal logging, with our transparent supply chain verified by independent environmental and fiber certification bodies.

Forest certification programs and Chain of Custody certification ensure that our customers can trust the integrity of our supply chain, from sustainable forestry operations to the final product. These certifications provide reliable assurance that every stage of our manufacturing process uses wood pulp sourced from sustainably managed forests.

strict due diligence & on site verification
For many years, we apply a rigorous due diligence process to ensure our wood pulp meets strict regulatory requirements – including the EU Deforestation Regulation and certifications like FSC™ and PEFC. This includes thorough social risk assessments and protections for ancient and endangered forests. Our engagement with pulp suppliers goes beyond compliance, as we conduct regular on-site visits to verify their conformity and actively obtain data on CO₂ emissions and water use, driving impactful reductions in our upstream environmental footprint.
EU Deforestation-free Regulation
The regulation aims to minimize the consumption of products coming from supply chains associated with deforestation or forest degradation, to increase the EU demand for legal and deforestation-free commodities and products.
Even with the postponement of the EU Deforestation-free Regulation, we remain fully committed and perfectly prepared to ensure compliance. Our proactive approach means we will continue to work with unwavering vigor, swiftly adapting to all new regulations as they come into effect.
Partnering with Canopy
We are committed to advancing forest conservation and setting a benchmark for environmental and social responsibility in the packaging paper industry. Our commitment to Canopy outlines our pledge not to use any wood or pulp from primary forests or at-risk forests (as identified by the “Forest Mapper” tool). We support the goals of the Pack4Good initiative by the NGO “Canopy” to promote deforestation-free, transparent, innovative, and alternative fibers for packaging worldwide. The declaration also includes a commitment to evaluate and promote the use of recycled and alternative fibers, as well as to prioritize certified fibers, supplier relationships, and the targeted diversification of its supplier base.

We consistently rely on certified supply chains and continuously review our procurement strategy to adapt it to market and environmental changes and proactively address risks such as price volatility or shortages of certified pulp. To mitigate these risks, we set on long-standing, trust-based supplier relationships and a targeted diversification of our supplier base.
