delfort expands its electrical insulation materials portfolio

delfort is expanding its portfolio of specialized components used in transformer manufacturing to offer a full range of solutions: the company brings a new pressboard machine to market and welcomes Isotek, a manufacturer of insulation solutions, to the group. “Through this strategic growth and the expansion of our capacities, we are enhancing supply security for our customers,” says Olli Aho, Head of electrical insulation material of delfort.

Starting in 2027, a new machine at the Tervakoski plant in Finland will produce pressboard. “This strengthens global supply resilience,” says Aho. “Our customers benefit from high availability, reliable delivery, and faster realization of transformer and grid expansion projects.” For more than 100 years, delfort has been a trusted partner to transformer manufacturers worldwide with its portfolio of insulation papers and diamond dotted papers and is now expanding its portfolio to include also presspan board and components.

Customized electrical insulation solutions for electric transformers

Isotek, headquartered in southern Germany and leading specialist in customized insulation, further expands the solutions portfolio of the group. Isotek produces high-quality insulation components for transformers, manufacturing transformer kits for electrical insulation made from wet and dry formed parts tailored to customers’ specific requirements.

In addition to expanding capacity, delfort is also strengthening its internal commitment to environmental responsibility: by utilizing industrial waste heat and electrified steam generation at the Tervakoski site, the company produces electrical insulation materials with a significantly reduced CO2 footprint.
