corporate social responsibility report delfort 2024

Welcome to our 2024 corporate social responsibility report! Amidst a year of rapid change, including an evolving legislative environment combined with geopolitical and economic upheaval, we remain focused on achieving our goals, further embedding sustainability into our organization and delivering on our targets.

In line with the UN Sustainable Development Goals and the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact, we continuously work toward driving delfort's sustainability forward on all levels. Having invested €79 million in the modernization of our production facilities and in processes to reduce carbon emissions in 2023, we are sending a clear message of our commitment toward net zero.

climate care: our roadmap to net zero

We prioritize energy transition, innovation and circularity to lead a significant shift within our industry. Our goal is to create and implement a comprehensive decarbonization roadmap that not only aligns with our customers' sustainability requirements, but also remains economically tenable.

We have created a decarbonization corridor that extends from a commitment already surpassing the linear minimum reduction goals outlined in the SBTi Net-Zero Standard by 2048 to even more rapid decarbonization possibilities. We aim to achieve at least a 50% reduction in emissions by 2030 and attain net zero emissions by 2050.

innovative products: the future is light!

To minimize the need for non-renewable materials and support a
circular economy, we develop ultra-lightweight barrier papers that perform.

As we develop our solutions, we always make sure that we use as few raw materials as we can. We satisfy the needs of different users and industries with the lightest, thinnest papers possible. Lighter paper means less pulp, lower weight, reduced transportation space, less waste, and contributes to a circular economy by promoting resource efficiency and waste reduction. Our lightweight products allow customers to save up to 80% volume in waste.

empowering people: safety and opportunity

We promote a 24-hour safety mindset with initiatives to address conscious and unconscious behaviors, elevating safety to the front of minds and actions. In 2023 we started a new company-wide occupational safety campaign and surveyed our global work safety team to gain further insights and recommendations. In 2023 lost time accidents were reduced by 26% compared to 2022.

Creating an inclusive environment that fosters and respects diversity is vital to our success. In 2023, we implemented a Diversity, Equality and Inclusion Policy. We strictly prohibit any form of forced, compulsory or child labor in our own operations or those of our suppliers. In 2023, we implemented an annual Human Rights Performance Assessment at board level.
